Dr. Spencer grew up in Bettendorf, IA. After graduating from Bettendorf High School, she attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University. She moved to Schaumburg, IL after becoming Dr. Spencer, DVM in 2001 and practiced Veterinary Medicine at a small animal hospital near Chicago.

Dr. Spencer, now Dr. Spencer-McShane, moved back to the Quad-City area to be closer to her family. She resides in Bettendorf with her husband, Paul, and daughters, Genevieve and Isabella, plus one dog, two cats, and four goldfish.

Dr Spencer-McShane specializes primarily in small animals; rabbits, ferrets, and various rodents. She has a love for surgery and uses ultrasound as her preferred diagnostic tool. She considers improving her skills through continuing education paramount to her success in providing care for her patients.

In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her daughters.
